Flagship housing reform which works in the best interests of middle income earners: new plan, new mechanism
The government is called upon to introduce a new tenure for newly built property whereby homeownership is based on the build cost of the home [BCH – Build Cost Housing]. This could put home ownership with the financial reach of numerous more middle-income earners AND make rents substantially cheaper where the owner is a housing association. All this can be achieved at no cost to the taxpayer.
This work directly results from many years of analysis, problem-solving and careful development with free-thinking practitioners across all housing industry sectors, including some of the government’s advisors.
The electorate often cites the cost of home ownership and renting as one of the significant issues which can sway their vote. During the current cost-of-living crisis this will be even more amplified.
